This is a farewell letter to what we knew as the Cobra poker recap. I've had a recent revaluation resulting after some thought on last weeks game. The scenario played out in typical fashion, player (me) gets knocked out and is steaming from losing so that player vents with some nonsensicle typical "nice catch" or generic response (u can b the judge if it was or not, don't think its Germain to this letter). What made it unique this time was the vehement/angry/personal response back to said player from some (not all) at the table. Actually it was kind of shocking especially since I've seen/heard these same players say things like, "Wow if I knew he played that bad I wouldn't have ..." or others say "Nice Catch" upon busting out countless times, without a peep in response from anyone.

After some thought and indirect feedback from someone like Rebecca I've discovered that she thinks the recap is nothing more than an excercise in being "mean". At first I did not take this seriously due to the fact that this is not where the cap was coming from at all, let me be clear about this, NOT AT ALL. My obvious conclusion in light of last weeks outbursts is if one person feels that way then others must as well. For disclosure I am not intending to direct this at Rebecca it's just that she was honest enough to tell someone how she felt, and that's fine. I just want to be clear that I am not in the business of wanting anyone to feel personally attacked and I apologize if I have inadvertently hurt your feelings or egos.

Everything I've written or done was in the spirit of commaderie of the group and to put it bluntly, fun (at least some of us thought so). Lets remember that needling during a Cobra game is fun and even encouraged! However sometimes perception can become what appears to be reality to some. I jokingly played the role of antagonist purposly acting like Helmuth or Matasow cause it was rediculous and made me laugh how absurd they are, in fact I was given a "I'm surrounded by idiots" shirt, do I really think that? Absolutely not, but playing that role too long seems to have solidified in the thoughts of some. So the act + the recap could = false representation of who some may think I am. I am not an antagonist and I am obviously not Helmuth/Matasow in real life, so the act and the recap stops now.

Truth be told I think all of the Cobras are worthy, fiercely competitive poker players. Lets be blunt, no one is truly better than the other, a great deal (not all) of this game relies on chance and judging game play is nothing more than subjective interpretation.

After the response at last weeks game the value proposition of writing the recap is just no longer justified for me, in fact it seems like a negative return (and i'm not talking dollars). Being a relatively new father in addition to work and life does not afford me the time to allow for any kind of in depth or even shallow hand breakdowns, finding of images, and postings I'd would prefer to do, especially with the flurry of games as of late. Perhaps someone will take the torch, or not, whatever, it was fun, for most of it anyhow, keyword FUN.

PS you didn't think I'd let it go with out one last review did you? Ok this one is what I really think of you.

Rebecca - last games winner, great with numbers, rock solid player, hmm seem to recall last weeks recap essentially saying the same thing despite her results. In my opinion shes one of the top 3 players this year.

Frank - solid player, most become cautious when he enters the pot, has shown some "fancy" play as of late, nice to see him open his game up with good results.

John - extremely dangerous player, has several gears and your never really sure which one he's in. this gives him the opportunity to send you to chip heaven or worse chip hell. hes been making some impressive reads as of late with several big calls and folds.

Chris - A rock solid player with a very well rounded game, has an almost unmatched patience I rarely if ever see in a "younger" player. He's the most improved player I've seen since starting with the Cobras.

Satoshi - what makes him a viable contender is that he's such a "feel" player relying on his gut. this type of player tends to have monster chip swings as we have seen. It's alot of fun to watch a gut player with this much heart play. He too has vastly improved his tournament play.

Brian - another player whos great with numbers, math is an important facit of the game and it's always important to know both where you and your opponents are. Not quite sure what kind of player Brian is which tells me he's evolving and that in itself is interesting.

Trish - a smart all around player, he knows the numbers rock solid, he knows when he needs to do what at just the right time, Trish does not allow u to make many mistakes with him and he does not make many mistakes with you, this makes him a very difficult opponent to play.

Carlino - has a little bit of everything, numbers, reads, gut, heart, gonna be interesting to watch as he develops all those aspects of his game, has a lot more potential than we have seen.

Justin - tons of heart and fearless. We never know which Justin will show up to play and it's that unpridictability makes him dangerous by default.

Frank - The jauggernaut of the night second place in the main event then 1st place in game 2 despite being the short stack 4 way, very impressive given this guy doesn't know what hand he has or what game were playing for petes sake ;) well done well done.

Carlino - Game 1 bubble donk, only to give it away game 2, why can't he close? but an impressive cash/snipe % eh whatever coffees for closers suck it and stick to the side action.

Brian - He had a goal of cashing that night, game 1 4th out mehfest, ah but 2nd chances cute little break sans game 1 of course. Incidentally Brian snipes out John in Hand #3!

Bec - Becs been playing some solid poker as of late with some impressive results, I actually think she's the muscle in the Clipper house and will probably end up near the top at year end despite this little bubble and game 1 ugliness.

Adolfo - Was killing it game 1 early then lost my mind and gave Satoshi a nice huge gift in a box wrapped with a bow on top. No way he wins without my charity, game 2 i had no chance.

Satoshi - The Sniper king got a gift from me and put them to good work ending game 1 in near record time was a monster chip leader most of the game. Ah but did u notice game 2? see what happens when he doesn't get the charity of others? Just sayin is all.

Trish - Game 1 break even, game 2 meh, who knew veggie stuff could be so meaty/spicy/nom nom heaven? now get out.

Chris - Champ Curse duh, boom done.

John aka Jelvin - Sweet jesus where do I begin with this epic train wreck? Oh how bout the side action he had that someone would go first out at level 4 but loses the bet cause someone goes out level 2, who u ask? Jelvin! No need to remind he went BACK TO BACK FIRST OUT, oh god wait I need a min. I'm doubled over in laughter typing that, milk came out of my nose on my keyboard, and i'm tearing up it's just too damn rich I mean, no I musn't oh here I go BACK TO BACK FIRST OUT! ahahaha, ok ok ok must catch breath ok.

Trish - Just used Frank as his pesonal doormat, ash tray, stepping stone despite being short stacked. Theres a new leader in town and it's Trish? he just pushed with 9/10 off and Frank had him crushed w/A4 and he happened to hit one of his cards go figure.

Frank - Didn't know what winning hand he landed most of the night. Had a monster stack and found a way to lose it, pretty much just handed trishan his wallet and said, "I trust you with it". Winner of the it was his game to lose and he did award. Nice back to back 2nd place, horrible for his heads up stats though.

Satoshi - Back to back break even, hey whats that little break even money doing in his hundies?

Hai - He is the bubble king, just give him the crown, i vote for this one, should i start a poll?

Rebecca - Meh

Ryan - Scared John off like usual.

Carlino - The best loser I know, how do u lose with trip Q's? ask lino. Can we just take turns kicking him in the groin next time? It's essentially the same thing.

Adolfo - Too busy eating chicken ala king to worry bout poker.

Cepideh - Johns atm but outlasted John? sweet Jesus cmon.

Adolfo - And so it begins...

Trish - Back to back cash, snipers John, Lino, and Justin not bad not bad. Was crushed heads up think misery scene, writer on bed, me with sledgehammer to Trish feet.

Justin - So close to the real money then Trish AJ ends his dream KJ for break even. He pretty much single handedly ended the Clipper run when he decimates John at Level 5 when he moves all in with 99's vs Johns AK draw doesnt come Justin doubles up to 7k. How can we forget the 64 straight vs becs AA win but of course. Then Julie all in w/10's and Justin crushing her with AA. Knocks out Aaron Quadruple couples snipe night only to result in a mediocre cash.

Chris - Jesus where do I begin with this train wreck, bad decision after bad decision, makes an unnecessary all in call vs me with over cards and i catch my only good card on river. He doesn't make a call with 3 players already in although he was priced in, becomes a huge pot, he would have more than tripled up with a full house. Folding your way to the money is just not a winning strategy anymore. Coulda woulda shoulda, bubble boy meh, winners curse winners curse winners curse

Aaron - Knocked out by Justin in a 3 way all in his AQ turns into garbage, this stinks of John advice. Least I got to shake his hand pre game.

Carlino - Sniped Brian out with quad mf'ing Queens, Sniped Satoshi when he got the straight before Satoshi didn't. He pulled his classic fold the big blind out of turn, it's a thing of beauty don't u think? Can we pitch in and buy him a mouse for the felt or something?

Bec - Allowed herself to get ridiculously short stacked, was less than 5x's the big blind when she goes all in with AA vs Justins 64, we all know how that ends.

John - It was like watching a very very very small balloon deflate slowly, but with that high pitched squeal that they make, made Justin his personal ATM early then in typical fashion just hemorrhaged. This is how you end up 5th for the year, nice to see some things don't change. Oh and knocked out by Justin, let me repeat that, by Justin.

Satoshi - Kind of an 09 train wreck so far, what looked like a great rookie draft pick is looking like all the expert pickers were wrong. Don't remember much from this snake, cept that Lino put the laser dot on his forehead then it was sleeper cell time.

Brian - I think I remember him mentioning how he wasn't going to do much side action so that he could "focus". Here's a free tip maybe he should reduce his side action a bit more.

Julie - Widdled down then goes all in at a blank flop against Justin and says, "I've got him beat." Justin turns over AA, great read, oh and first out.

Erik - He was down to a short stack then caught quads, straights, pairs, rivers galore, nice come back and nice misread by telling Hai he won with a straight when actually he busted out. Oh well sometimes I would like to be more lucky then smart too ( i kid i kid!).

Dave - How did he get this far? Singlehandedly destroyed Clipper, knocked out Johns all in with A6, River straights Bec calling it down, need I say more?

Adolfo - Came out strong, gave Satoshi a giant gift, then made an amazing comeback only to get river'd out by unicorn horseshoe Harve for a cash. If it wasn't for luck... read my book.

Hai - all in, all in, all in, i won! oh wait i'm out, silence.

Trish - was short, got some chips, lost them, wanted us out.

Chris - Was a folding machine for the longest time, finally plays a few hands Erik goes with a flush draw, Chris says he has the nuts, a made straight ah but apparently theres a better nut flush on the river, Fah and indeed Sheeee. Winner curse is strong with this one, winner curse winner curse winner curse.

Satoshi - I gave him a huge pot gift and what does he do? Gives it to everyone, especially Dave. He did make a big fold laying down QQ's alas his arse was firmly handed to him.

Bec - A monster chip leader after fleecing John, falls in love with her KK and Dave catches a straight on the river and leaves her with almost nothing. Next hand Erik raises she goes all in (which is less than the raise) Erik shows 22 vs Becs 10 x, Erik flops 22x for quads, how do u say insult to injury in Cobespeak? 1st 09 winner of the it was her game to lose and she did award.

Carlino - Does anyone remember him in the game? Meh i'm sure he asked if it was his turn a few times. Oh yeah bec AA vs lino tripped flop, turn bec catches up, and it's boat over bigger boat buh and bye.

John - Had a good stack early and got pillaged by Bec, on the short stack he goes all in with 33 vs Daves A6, Dave rivers an A that I dealt, ah your welcome. First to Worst, First out first out first out.

J*** In My Pants re-CAP 12/09

Adolfo - When I was down to only 1500 in chips blinds were 1000/500 and there was four of us left, did I panic? No I played it cool. When Frank doubled me up did I jump for joy and elbow punch him for the heck of it? No I played it cool. I don't play poker like usual, I keep it cool. When I decimated John heads up did I stand on my chair and jump for joy? I think u know the answer, I played it cool. bee bop boo bip bow yeah yeah snap snap snap.

John - Amassed 2nd biggest stack early with some cards and patented Psy-Ops then sat on his chips and folded his way to 2nd. He went into heads up massively out chipped, few hands into it he Ji$$'d in his pants when he flops trip kings and goes all in, I call my flopped open ended straight and flush draw. After my call he jumps up and slams his cards up proudly proclaiming what he thought was his winning hand and ji**ing his pants again, then I announce what I have and he just wills it to me. Then he goes and changes his clothes.

Carlino - Straight Flush, KK over JJ, how did this 08 trainwreck only get to break even money?

Frank - Bubble bubble bubble, game changer was Satoshi period, had his number all night long. Remember those cartoons where the sucker was placed on the carousel and the other guy would just stick his fist out waiting for the guys face to come around again for a punch? yeah now just put Franks face on the carousel and satoshi's fist puching frank once an orbit infinity.

Rebecca - Big Blind's, tired and sick doesnt usually finish in the money but surprise pot stickers were godhead.

Satoshi - Winner of the It Was His Game To Lose and He Did award. He had about 70% of the chips in play then just found a way to donk them off, it was a quick and steady hemmorage to the ER. Early game he was just Juggernauting the table, he caught a level 2 full house, a 6/3 club flush, pushed frank off a hand with KcJc, J10 catches a turn on lino, then everyone woke up and took chunks out of him.

Brian - He lived and died by the cursed 88 hand. He got into a big pot with Lino and ran into a straight flush, check and mate. Second out, second out, second out.

Ilya - Folded quite a bit and I think i saw some premium hands, this stinks of a Helmuth disc 1 or Brian lessons meh.

John - Once again the blue moon has reared its rare head and what a moon it was. I'm embarrassed to say that I made this 30% heads up donk a 40% heads up donk, ugh. But it was entertaining to see him just go psych warfare on everyone early then lose almost all of it only to go on a winning shovedonkfest, enjoy the week.

Adolfo - Was a game 1 1st out train wreck but turned it around with some decent poker, made it heads up and got jumped by johns little cheerleading squad (he had a chip counter, and a poker coach), god i'd love to see him fight one of his own fights just once, just once. Well this plus I caught a series of just dismal cards and the fact that I momentarily forgot how to play heads up didn't help.

Carlino - Had John squarely in the cross hairs when he gets it all in with a better Ace than John, but of course the Cobra champ win curse kicks in and John catches yet another miracle when his baby kicker catches. Lino was 3rd out game 1.

Chris - Bit of a rough night for the money leader, he had a massive chip lead in Game 1 but just got utterly outplayed heads up by Satoshi. But should this be a surprise? He's only a 30% heads up player, how is this guy gonna be the champ? Oh yeah being a cash machine. Bubble boy tried to fold (wait for a miracle) his way to the money but everyone is on to that. I must give him props for hosting 2 games and for re-mucking his hand when some of the table was considering giving him an exception when he mucked out of turn, that was the stand up thing to do.

Saurabh - Put the final nail in my game 1 coffin when my 2 pair ran into his pocket AA which turned into all kinds off better hand. But he ended up a midpacker in both games, was awesome to see him again and big ups to his new baby and future cobra member.

Owen - Caught some great cards and went on a tear then pulled the roller coaster and that never ends on the top. Game 1 2nd out to Game 2 3rd out, ugh go roast me some coffee beans would u?

Satoshi - Despite being insanely outchipped, he made an incredible heads up comeback for a game 1 win, just decimated Chris, alas game 2 is rarely forgiving.

Rebecca - Lets face it her game was over when she gave 90% of her stack to me when she decided to play "feel" poker. I wonder what she "felt" watching her chips come to me, oh and she went first out, and fifth out in game 1.

Kid Cash returns re-CAP! 10/6/08

Zach - Just came in and f'ing steamrolled, absolutely smacked over the head with cards and was mowing down hookers and carjacking cobras like a game of GTA on crystal meth.

Chris - Why did he fold those trips, whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?!!!!!!! Zach played him like a fiddle pushing Chris off his trips with 2 pair, great move.

Adolfo - 3 cashes in a f'ing row, suck it.

Been A Long Time re-CAP! 9/22/08

Been way too long since I've brought the CAP, been so busy I could not even document my amazing back to back 1st to 2nd place finish in one night! Ah but i'm a gracious winner so lets begin in the present, where the new kid takes it down, a flukedonk catches multiple miracles and yours truly is there to bring it to u, let us begin the blood letting...

Satoshi - The new Cobra played a solid game, was chip leader most of the game, used Mike as his personal atm, lost a lot to Trish but got it back, got rivered by Brian and found a way to win, props for now new kid.

Brian - Had absolutely no business getting 2nd place money, I lost count how many times he bad beat or rivered someone, got up from his chair to leave then boom another miracle river, it was beyond redonkulous. Should have ended up 5th out.

Adolfo - Rivered by Brian, if it wasn't for luck....infinite loop.

Frank - Bad beat by Brian twice, could not cash despite catching Aces back to back and QQ twice, back to the mid pack you go.

Trish - Immediately made Satoshi his ATM, then decided to double Mike up about 3 times, gave me a boat load of chips. He came in the game at the 4th level (bs) with fewer players, became chip leader and still couldn't close the f'ing deal, he may want to rethink that Vegas trip. Winner of the it was his game to lose and he did award.

Aaron - Ugh, wheres my copy/paste? ah here it is, "He got chips early, and slowly bled bye bye" infinate loop.

Mike - It was like a cow trying to cross a pond full of piranhas, almost everyone got a bite, even the real donks.

John - Went Elvin in his bathroom, eat his pizza, and took his money. Had a cute moment when he took the easy Mike chips one hand. Besides that it was sweet mother of mediocrity 3rd out meh.

Chris - Rivered by Brian.

Carlino - Jesus where do i begin? How bout when he mucked in the big blind out of turn? Brian said, "am I going to be the first person to ever get a walk in the small blind?". Yeah that pretty much sums up this 08 sophmore slumpwreck.

A Rare Gift

Chris - He was on life support and got 2 donk double up gifts from Trishan, climbed up the building then folded his way to heads up. Last hand was trip 6's vs trip 6's but Chris had the Q kicker to take it down.

Frank - River suck out on Chris and Julie early in the game saved him, and his little donk J catch vs me.

Adolfo - I had not business not winning that game, no excuses, I was the chip leader going in 3 handed. Doubled up Chris when his 22 all in held up vs my AJ, then the killer was when Frank goes all in with AJ and I make the genius call with AQ, Frank catches the J out the window and it's a rare gift for the remaining donks.

Trish - Oh bubbly trainwreck bubble boy, the food was macking so big ups there!

Ryan - goes all in with 77's I call with 10's destroyance complete zzzzz.

John - Typical trainwreck John, exciting action early, some donk falls for it. Then Ryan shows up with AA all in and John makes the AQ call = non factor master.

Carlino - There was a little controversy on the hand when Brian in the short stack goes all in and both chris then lino call. Lino (online donk) bet the turn to hit the K, some felt that checking it down was the right thing to do, meh. Trishan gets his etiquette rage out by knocking him out with 55 vs Linos A5. Thanks for bringing the jumbos, they are way better than those old crap cards we sometimes play with. Oh and Sophmore Slump! Sophmore Slump! Sophmore Slump! Sophmore Slump!

Erik - Lino calls, I call, Erik moves all in, Lino folds, i go into the tank, Erik calls clock, I make the call, he shows QQ I show 77. I actually apologize in advance for the suckout he's about to fall victim to, I river the 7 I knew was coming. Once again sorry for that, boom Hulk is released, Trish needs home repair.

Julie - Brutal beat when riverdonk Frank calls her Flush with trips and he catches the miracle river full house.

Brian - John puts the ball on the tee and drives it 200 yards, Psychology! Gets crippled early when he makes the call with something less than an A vs Johns trap trip Aces. Carlino knocks him out in a controversial hand when his K hits vs Brians 44.

Back to Backs re-CAP! 5/16/08

Brian popped his hosting cherry in the new vertical stair freindly, scary dog out front digs. The fresh made pizza was the bomb and the view was stunning. The view was even better with all the cobras that were about to be thrown off his balcony mercilessly. Of note there were lots of back to backs for the night, proceed to the carnage for more...

Ryan - How do you lose with quads? Ryan rhymes with Brian and they were both winners, coincidence?

Adolfo - Back to back second place cash, check out one of the fools I chained up and what I made him repeat.

Brian - Nice game 1 win to game 2 break even, awesome hosting job oh and thanks for the crazy face coffee mug now take that to goodwill first thing in the morning.

Chris - Back to back Bubble letting it all just slip away.

Carlino - Back to back 5th place sigh. I hear he's like some sort of uber level ElfWarrior in World of Warcraft at least. Oh and sophmore slump sophmore slump sophmore slump sophmore slump.

Frank - Had absolutely no business NOT being in Oakland before he inevitably was.

John - Wow house of Clipper was just utterly decimated, a 2nd out then somehow gets convinced to get out of his adult sized baby jammies only to go 3rd out, then finally getting lapped in the cash by not one but 2 cobras.

Rebecca - Do I even need to say anything here? She brought an interesting pumpkin dish, took a bite of pizza then blammo fangs to the jugular first out bye. Ah but whats that? a return for game 2? Ok great, whammo 2nd out! iPhone game time.

Trish - From -1 to FIRST OUT FIRST OUT FIRST OUT FIRST OUT FIRST OUT FIRST OUT sweet sweet train wreck.

Dishonorable mention Justin going out 5th out game one, tried to make a move on me and I made a freaking amazing call to knock him out of the hamster trail.

Adolfo - Change the word "warriors" and replace with "cobras" to the vid above. Did you see when I twisted the knife in Johns gut to knock him out with his cute little I'm all in with JJ shove? If you zoomed into my face you would have seen a few millimeters of the corner of my mouth curl up.

Chris - Keeps his temp hold on the cash leader board, but I'll bet that changes again soon.

TreJack - C'mon this name is ridonkculous can we think of something else? I'll use the Hai inspired "Trish". Game one 4th out to break even ugh the trainwreck continues.

Rebecca - On the upside she knocked Hai out with AK, his all in JJ's shriveled up and Ryans 99's were crushed too making her the early monster stack.

Frank - All in with a Q8 vs Trish K6 high card won and frank is left with almost nothing. Me and Chris check it down and Chris gets the honor of sending him back to the 510.

John - Had a cute little run but is back to normal now, how did you donks let him get to 3rd in the cash? (as of this game)

Erik - On the downside he went all in with 44's vs Trish QQ buh bye. On the upside an impressive game 1 victory and yes he is the certified owner of Johns soul.

Ryan - Trainwreck 3 way all in (see becca above) followed up by his all in 22's (aka Elvin) crushed when Frank catches a flush on the river.

Game 1

Chris - Wow I haven't seen a game this stupid in a long time, he didn't even have to show up, should have just bought in put his hat on the chair, went to the Giants game and let his cards do all the work. That is essentially what happened, he had aces, queens, boats, straights, u name it and he was hitting everything, but the amazing part was that he had f'ing Quads twice in one game! Wasn't poker but it was fun to watch.

Ryan - Back to back cash, ran into Chris's quads heads up, no mercy.

Satoshi - Had a monster stack for a while then donked em off for the break even.

Hai - Back to back bubble, sad. Worse part was when he gets knocked out by Chris, Chris has A7 Hai has K10, Chris shows the wrong deck flop and flop hits K but Franks corrects them and the real deck gives Chris the hai le knockout, brutal.

Adolfo - Knocked out by Hai, I'll cash in the next one and knock him out.

Frank - Just reverse him and Chris same thing different game, they both luckdonk one, both go 3rd out. Last hand frank has kq vs ryans 44 flop hits 4 buh and bye.

Rebecca - meh rivered at end of course

Game 2

Frank - You could have interchanged Chris with Frank or vice versa, the cards did most of the work for Frank. Couple rickdiculous moments of the night was when he goes all in on my with q10 I call with kj he catches the q. But the epic moment was when I genius fold my trips Chris and Frank both have the same straight with J10 then Rebecca says, "runner runner heart" and guess what happens to chris? Frank catches the runner runner heart, it was both halarious and brutal all at once. Think he had aces 3x's this game was insane but not as insane as Chris game one.

Ryan - Back to back Silver, could not close the deal either time, nice double cash though.

Adolfo - All I do is cash.

Hai - The back to back bubble, he did catch a river one game for the patented jump up, "yeah mother f'er!" to the loser moment, awesome. Miracle he actually showed up for not one but 2 games, hope to see more of him in the future.

Rebecca - Couldn't get anything really happening then got snuffed out on the river in game 1 like usual.

Chris - See what happens when it doesn't rain quads all game aww back to normal. See Frank above for the runner runner heartbreak miracle.

Trishan - First out to Second out in one night! Sweet jesus this tailspin is actually making Carlino look good at this point, ugh. On the upside the food was epic.

Satoshi - I'll be nice, glad he could make it to the game, hope he comes more often, ps first out, god why can't i hold back?

Adolfo - I came into Johns early with the web cam under the assumption all i had to do was plug it in and set up the live stream for the fans. Alas John thought i was bringing a laptop w/my bad back, uh no I was saving my energy for the bloodbath.

Then I shot all the lights out, once everyone walked in things got really weird, I put on my night vision goggles then went to work a la le professional. I walked up behind John and said "Gyro!" then covered his head in a Cala foods plastic bag till he went purple and dropped, oh hi Erik check out this pack of cigs I just threw up in the air, then as he's looking up samurai sword swing across his belly organs all over the kitchen floor don't slip!
Trishan aww so cute he actually showed up i'll make it quick and painless with a standard chubbo ponytail Segal neck snap "crack" done, i'll take Bailey out for a poop later for you.

On the upside he knocked Frank out when he calls Franks Jh10h vs his Qd9h. His last hand was a Js5s but i flushed him down the toilet.

Chris - Are you gonna bark all day little doggie or are you gonna bite? Upside was when he baby doubled up with QQ vs linos 88. His last hand he walked into Lino's made straight trap and it was lights out for break even. Chris had 9's 3 times that night! He doubled up through me once when he rivers a 3 on me.

Brian - Could barely see his hands between the clouds in the room. After doubling up Chris Carlino decides to double up Brian once too. Later Brian gets knocked out by Chris's 99 vs his A9 at level 7.

Frank - 73737373 in your dreams all night love it! boom cash game least your have Tahoe to break. On the upside his trips vs. Eriks Q was his tiny highlight.

Ryan - Sorry yeah that was brutal but awesome, but the vid fit the story so eh.

Trishan - When it rains it pours, the image above pretty much sums up his year. Brutal hand of the night for Trishan AQ vs Brians KQ flop comes K and no help for the trainwreck that is known as Trishan.

Erik - The usual, gets knocked out, does some high pitch snotty imitations of me that are really quite funny, no really they are, then watches me tell him he's gonna have to come in on Sunday and that all his TPS reports are wrong in his dreams.

John - Lost all side action to me, got knocked out KK vs AA by me, got knocked out of top 3 overall by me, his soul has been bought by me, I have the contract in my bank safety deposit box signed by him in a combo of his blood/tears ink. Oh and he's first out first out first out.

Was a gorgeous day in San Francisco and whats the best use of that day? Yes staying inside a dark loft eating pizza watching projected blinds, college basketball on a non hd tv, listening to awesome tunes, and sweet sweet poker. We had assembled an impressive 9 handed game, but both Brian and Ira bok bok lamer'd at the last minute so it was a very motley crew of 7.

An interesting twist was at the last minute I had kooky idea to provide a video stream of the game. So I quickly pointed the web cam at the table, sorry I know the sun coming through the window did not make for an optional image. Ustream.tv provided it all making it very easy to set up and share, you all got the link at the last minute. Anyhow lets get to the blood letting...

Adolfo - I played absolutely perfect, you should all go take lessons from me and study me, ok ok just kidding. I had wild swings, was really up and really down, caught a river flush on Trishan, donked off some chips to Julie, you people happy now? In the end things went well, I had a substantial chip lead going into heads up, but was never a sure thing, I hope Chris puts a bounty on me every week it's great luck.

Julie - Cried about not catching a flop most of the night, was on life support (she just would not die) then got a life saving donation double up from me. Was a good thing too cause she went to work on the remaining stacks making things a bit more even. Highlight of the day was her runner runner flush catch on Eric for a double up. Last hand she has 49 she hits the 4 on the flop of A42, uh oh but i have 35 turn is an A she goes all in I auto call and win. Her heads up stats get an additional blemish.

Eric - Same ole Eric, just solid aggression, not zachlike manic crackhead aggression but consistent firing none the less, wild chip stack swings, he and Aaron were the monster stacks of the night, in his zeal to knock everyone out he ended up doubling nearly everyone up at the end, was a miracle he didn't cash.

Carlino - My favorite line of the night was him looking down on a sorry excuse of a stack then asking, "who took all my chips?", none of us could figure out who had. I knocked him out, as for the rest of his game he had a couple blips of life, but believe me it's not even worth the pixels so meh. Sophmore slump Sophmore slump Sophmore slump, ps he's the only "active" cobra left not to get a win this year but no pressure, no pressure, train wreck.

Aaron - Sweet mother of sassy mollassy, Aaron makes a huge call when Zach goes all in with nothing and Aaron shows the K for top pair. Then he just slowly amasses a monster borg stack, it was so his game to lose relatively early and we all know what that means. Yes he actually somehow traversed his way through insane corn patch maze to find a way to lose all those chips. Bee bo bop beep beep, whats that sound? uh the ATM about to dispense our cash. I knocked him out but that's barely worth mentioning, sigh.

Trishan - Talk about revenge of the river, like I said at the game, Trishan should have just come over and stood with his legs apart and let each of us take a turn kicking him in the nuts then left 22 behind. Ryan - First Frank now this! Looks like every dog is having their day, well minus Aaron (sigh). Final hand, Ryan makes it $10,000. Brian re-raises all-in for $24,000. Ryan thinks about it. Then calls with 10 7 off suit. Brian has A 6. 6 on the flop. Turn hits a 10. River nothing. Ryan takes his winnings and goes on a drug crazed sex romp with the olsen twins through hollywood yelling, "I'm gonna live forever!". Congrats on the win.

Brian - Rhymes with Ryan coincidence? Made an impressive comeback to get a miracle 2nd finish, last time I saw him he was on the ropes with only approx 4500 left and a healthy John, and a very healthy Frank I must admit I thought he was gonna bubble. Pocket Aces twice doubled him up. 4-handed Luke donked off lots of chips to him. Brian had AQ and raised 3x. Luke comes over the top all in when he had tons of chips. Brian looked at the payout structure and with 3rd and 4th getting about the same $$$, he calls. Flops AQx.

Frank - Great video of Frank just letting me have it when I got knocked out, love it. How he gave up 2nd place to Brian has to be up there in the donk results of the year, on the upside it's a back to back cash! Congrats etiquette boy I see a first out in your very near future muhwahaha (morriss day laugh).

Luke - Had no business getting this far, we had him down to virtually nothing, he was talking about leaving and visiting a nearby friend, then he goes on the miracle shove fest and made an impressive comeback to cash.

John - Copy Paste last weeks performance here, Gets big stack early, goes into his little pain cave, boom he's gone, repeat infinite loop oh and Bubble. Move of the night was when he makes Luke fold a good hand then Luke is left asking himself for the rest of the night if he got played or not for a very nice pot, can you say dig and dugg?

Adolfo - Ran ice cold, miracle I got this far, loved the gang verbal beating I got too, use the hatred, thats it succumb to the dark side.

Justin - Mmm margaritas! Got a soda can sack beating when he brought his tiny stack to the adults table.

Rebecca - New name for her RGR Rebecca Gets Rivered, I can set my watch to this gut wrencher every week, sorry kid. Bec big blind special with 62. Flop 62A, Brian has AQ he loses most of his chips. But he gets back at her when he limps with AA and Bec raises with QQ. Board KJ10xx. Later on Brian takes her out.

Julie - Cool hair, I hear she's good at WII too!

Chris - didn't get past the kiddie table, meh.

Carlino - Happy bday, cobra gift, 11th place, no mercy holmes.

Satoshi/Dave/Zach etc.. lost the order for the early departed, mega meh.

Bok Bok Chico Blue Moon re-CAP! 2/26

This game was originally slated to be Chico vs. 415 but it appears Andy got wise and decided to play with his Hamms drinking backwoods a$$ jug band instead (f'ing coward).

I get to the house of Clipper and notice the sweet smell of Jumbalia in the air. Franks on the deck with headphones on, smoking a cigar psyching himself out, I can tell he's on a mission, a mission he gets a lot of help with.

Frank - Aces, KK, Boat, Quads, trips, was pretty obvious the poker gods were not going to allow frank to lose this one, he was pummeled with hands. Final hand Erik AA vs Frank Kx board is kxxkx, way to catch! Factoid, it took Frank OVER a year to pull down a win, wonder how long it'll take for the next one? Happy win day to frank, lets all sing it to him and let him blow out the candle.

Erik - Nice graduation from the kiddie table game of last week, he don't play much but when he does it gets interesting, sometimes. Sweet move of the night is when he's heads up with frank and makes frank lay down KK, cause and A showed, ah but Erik shows the J7!

Chris - Well well well look who broke even. He even had Aces! what is the world coming to?

Trishan - Was the human pinata for most of the game, then went to a shovedonkfest and won about 6 of em. Not bad when the blinds = 900 it almost makes one look like they are good, but a crucial doubling up of Erik ended the luck parade. Then there was one last embrace with all in, then it was gutting time for the cripple.

Adolfo - A nice video of me getting high by licking the blood of Bec and Carlino off the razor blade I slashed them with, too bad I lost the coinflip to Erik during the shovefest.

Carlino - Sophmore slump sophmore slump sophmore slump, as Morrisey says, "We hate it when our friends become successful", cmon admit it we love to build em up and tear em down. Back to the crying pillow for the cursed year kid. On the upside John doubled him up, ah big wow.

Year of the Orcas

I made this blog cause our former blog was unable to handle (yet) video, ok enough on that. Back to the good stuff. So much has happened since I last updated the status of underground poker or as the mafia would call it "this thing of ours". Some have risen, some have went flat, some are in a tailspin and some have died. Alas there is a glimmer of hope and it's called time, theres alot of year left, well kinda 9 months essentially and it looks like we may be on our way to a record amount of games played if all goes well.

A big congrats to Ryan for being bestowed the most coveted honor of being voted into this thing of ours (even if he hasn't grabbed a win yet), just remember Ryan the first rule of fight club!

So what has transpired? The tournament of champions where a very unlikely winner rose from a cursed existence, others were showered with extravagant prizes and awards of honor and dishonor, ps I hate you Betelnut for screwing us out of our private room, should have expected as much from the Marina (yuck lets not make mistake again).

Chris - Had an insane amount of luck at his back all night, there was no way he was losing this thing, keep reading and sharting your pants. Chopped a straight, then cripples Julie with a 10c 4c when he catches the Ace of clubs on the river for the nut flush.

Adolfo - Looks like the cobras have turned into seals with Chris and myself as the Killer Whales. Heres a nice video of us playing with John (factoid, john was 1st out of the toc last year). Chris flops a flush, I catch a bigger flush on the turn, wow Chris doesnt win a turn card for once. Chris knocks my KJ out with 99 game over. Factoid, i'm a back to back 2nd place TOC casher wow!

Carlino - Level 5 blinds are 400/800 3 mins left Lino goes all in in 1st position with A5off, Trishan folds, Frank calls with AK, 5 comes and Frank gets no help. Ah but later hes all in with A9 off vs Chris's Ad8d 8 hits on the turn.. Carlino all in with 8c2d, Chris calls with KsQs, Chris flopps an f'ing K high flush! Cute, the sophmore goes back to back cash, but I see more drought and sickness in his future.

Trishan - Had a monster stack and pissed it away only to be knocked out by Chris's J8 he catches a J and it's buh bye trishan. Although he got his little commie pinko nader lets pay everyone way either way you slice it, it still stinks of a bubble to me.

Erik - Chris calls Level 6 all in with A10 vs. Eriks AK chris catches a turn AGAIN! 10 Erik is gone. Was he even there? Meh, I predict a kiddie table win in his future/past.

Frank - See Carlino redonkulous suck out above, Frank cries about it happening to him last year too. By the time all of you read this it with have been over a year since Frank has won a game, ugh.

Brian - Had AA got no action, later he goes all in with 88's but is up against Trishans AA buh and indeed bye thanks for the awesome trophy. Factoid, Brian is a 7th place TOC 07/08 back to back casualty, ugh.

Rebecca - So mean of John to throw this sub in with the "champions" it was like when Mike Vick had little dogs for his pits to train on, she has trips with julie and trishan in the hand, julie folds, unfortunately for her trishan is chasing the second best flush and guess what happens on the river? Spade flush heartbreak for bec. Later Carlino pops it up to 400 with AA, bec goes all in with 77, erik calls with AA! Buh bye to the substitute.

Julie - Level 2 Oh glorious J10 meets a J river friend oh but whats that, Trishan has trips? Is there any shame worse than going first out at the TOC? Oh yeah not making it.

Brian - I take a nice chunk out of him when i river a K with AK vs his 88. Julie has 10,4 vs Brians 99 she hits a straight he hits a flush and knocks Julie out.

Carlino - Comes storming out of the gate early taking chips. He goes all in with 99, gets a dream call from Brian w/22 and Aaron with 8d5d, Carlino's 9's hold and more than doubles up. Boom Aaron gone. Carlino goes all in withe KQ, Brians priced in and calls with A7, board hits KQ Lino doubles up. Carlino bets big with QQ Chris calls with AK 52Qj6 and Chris is knocked out.

Frank - Doubles up through Julie when his 66 vs her A6 turns into a full house. Brian pops it up w/Ax, Frank moves all in w/99 for just a tad more, Brian folds. Level 7 shovefest frank all in with A9 vs Chris AdQd they both hit a straight and chop it.

Julie - But whats the good one was when she has KK vs. Chris 62 flop board comes 6q6q4! Julie is now crippled pops the big blind 3x's, Trishan goes all in 8k, Carlino goes in the tank and folds AJ, Brian chimes in later he folded A6, Julie then calls w/QQ, Trishan shows AK, Q's hold and Trishan is crippled. Result, no money on the bubble.

Chris - Played 10,9 flops and turns a 9 = trip 9's vs AA's takes a nice pot down.

Trishan - After getting crippled from Julie he goes on a shove fest, wins blinds from Julie. Then he shoves with J10 vs. Brians 88 board comes 62457 and it's goodnight for the big whiff king.

Adolfo - I catch trip K's on beccas AA, god i can set my watch to that. 5th time becca had aces cracked in i dont know how long. I was beteldrunk with gold coins from the toc to care about this game.

Aaron - Made his goal to fourth out, oh the stink of 2nd tier poker.

John - Goes all in vs frank with 99's Frank has KK flop comes a 9 turn is a K, puts John on life support. Brian knocks him out with trip Q's on the river. The tailspin continues but no more for this night.

Justin - Brian takes him out when his JQ catches the J and it's boozing time for Justin.

Rebecca - Shes gets a J hight straight but Julie has the draw to the K high straight. She's all in level 3 with A6, Carlino calls with QQ board come 2QKA4 and knocks her out. First out first out first out rough night.
